While Pete played Hannibal Heyes on the series, Roger Davis was the opening narrator but he guest starred on one episode of the series called "Smiler with a Gun" in which he played Danny Bilson, a smiling gunman, who was killed by Kid Curry.
After Peter's unexpected death, he took over Pete's role as Heyes but had a very difficult taking over. He tried his best until the series was cancelled in January 1973.
